STANDARD STORAGE PROCEDURE FOR MESH TARP
1. Before storage: Thorough cleaning + complete drying (the most crucial step)
a. Remove debris
Use a broom or brush to sweep away dirt, sand, wood chips, fallen leaves. Remove all the debris stuck in the mesh holes to avoid damaging the fabric during storage.
b. Clean
Rinse with clean water + neutral mild detergent, using a soft-bristled brush; avoid strong acids, strong alkalis, bleach, and washing in a washing machine, as it will damage the PE/PVC UV-resistant coating.
c. Fully air dry
Spread flat or hang in a ventilated area to dry; never store wet, as water in the mesh holes can easily cause mold, odor, and accelerate aging; do not expose to direct sunlight for drying.
2. Folding / Rolling Method (Recommended to roll to reduce creases and damage)
a. Prioritize rolling up for storage
Roll tightly along the long side to minimize hard creases caused by repeated folding (mesh fabric creases over time can easily tear).
b. If space is limited, fold
Do not press down each layer; leave gaps for ventilation, place the metal eyelets (grommet) at different angles to avoid puncturing the mesh surface.
3. Storage Environment Requirements
a. Avoid direct sunlight
PE mesh tarp will become brittle and crack over time due to long-term ultraviolet exposure; it must be stored in a cool, completely dark warehouse / garage storage box; do not stack outdoors.
b. Dry and ventilated
Stay away from damp basements, waterlogged walls, and avoid water pipes, underfloor heating, and stove tops with high temperatures; the environment should be dry and free of moisture.
c. Moderate temperature
Do not store for a long time in extremely cold (-20°C) or 40°C+ high temperatures, as the plastic material will accelerate aging.
d. Isolate corrosive substances
Keep away from engine oil, paint, chemical solvents, fertilizers, animal feces; chemicals will corrode the mesh fabric.
4. Storage Containers and Placement
a. Recommended containers
Breathable cloth bags, woven storage bags, plastic storage box with ventilation holes; do not store in a sealed plastic bag for long periods (moisture cannot escape).
b. Stacking & placement
Do not stack heavily; do not place heavy objects on top of the tarp to prevent mesh holes from being compressed and broken; hanging storage is the best option.
5. Regular Maintenance for Long-Term Storage
a. Air ventilation
If unused for more than 1 month: Take it out and air dry and ventilate periodically to disperse the dampness accumulated during storage.
b. Inspection & repair
Check for any tears or cracks in the holes, edges, and seams; small damages can be repaired with special tarp repair tape in advance.
c. Pest control
Place pest control packages in areas with pest problems to prevent mice from gnawing on the mesh fabric.
